Description:

The Ulra Accel is an ultra-light (295 g) but strong pull saw and a favourite of many outdoor enthusiasts.

This folding saw has a large aluminium handle encased in rubber that ensures a perfect grip and absorbs vibrations while cutting. Curve: 240mm curved blade, toothing 7.5: for overhead cutting, with higher cutting speed. The characteristic pulling motion of the Silky saw combined with the curved blade create a natural downward pressure. This ensures maximum cutting power and speed with minimum effort.

In case you are not yet used to cutting with a Silky saw, you have been warned about the razor-sharp teeth that work their way through wood at lightning speed. Even after frequent use, the teeth stay sharp for a long time so that you leave behind a smooth and clean cut time after time that can recover well.

When you are not using the Ultra Accel, the blade folds in easily with the lock button. The sharp teeth are then safely covered as they fall into the handle. When you need the saw, you fold it out easily thanks to the notch in the blade, even when wearing gloves. The lock button allows you to safely lock the blade in two different positions.

The aluminium handle is rubber-coated to absorb vibrations and ensure a good grip. The Ultra Accel gets its name from the word 'accelerate' which this saw excels at.

How to use

Silky saws are designed to cut with the pulling motion. At the first start, you position the pull saw so that the teeth closest to the handle engage the wood first. After the pulling motion, guide the saw back to the starting position by a pushing motion (without force). During the pulling movement, the thin blade cannot bend because there is no lateral force on it. The blade only follows the saw cut. Should the saw still clamp, never push or force hard, this may cause lateral forces and damage or break the saw blade. Always remove the clamping weight to free the saw.

The Silky saw guarantees a fine cut and requires little cutting force. Do not stress the saw. As your grandfather used to say: let the saw do the work. You will be less likely to get tired and it benefits the life of the saw.

You can slightly control the saw's wood removal rate by where you hold the handle:

  • Close to the blade: there is relatively little pressure on the blade. The saw will take the least amount of wood, allowing you to cut very controlled and with precision.
  • Further away from the blade: more pressure comes to bear on the blade. The cutting action is maximum, but less precise.

We are not responsible for any damage caused by improper use.

Maintenance

  • Treat your saw with love. The Silky saw blade must be kept clean or the cutting action will be lost. Resin dissolves in olive oil, so this is an effective, eco-friendly way to clean the blade. Be aware, however, that if you use more aggressive agents, they may affect the rubber of the handles.
  • When not in use, dry the saw thoroughly, put it in its holster and store in a dry place.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
