Silky's saws are becoming increasingly well-known in the bushcraft and outdoor world. Not for nothing: because the unique very smooth-sawing Pocket and Gomboy models are a perfect tool for this application.
Silky Gomboy 210-10:
The Gomboy with medium teeth is a multi-purpose saw for various outdoor applications. Whether you are sawing firewood for a campfire during your trek through the mountains or making a pot hook to prepare a hot meal in the forest, this handy pull saw is an indispensable part of your kit!
The Gomboy has a unique toothing and cuts on the pulling motion, which requires little energy and is easy to control. With it, you not only cut through thick logs at lightning speed, you can also make a very precise cut with it. That comes in handy when it comes to accuracy, for example when making a trap or fire arc. Now, in some situations, you need more than just an axe or a knife.
This folding saw is compact, lightweight and easy to carry in your backpack. So you can be sure that you will always be able to cut wood, for example to make a shelter or campfire in emergency situations. This is easy and faster than lugging wood through the forest or collecting small branches on the ground, especially in the dark or when there is a thick layer of snow.
Respect nature and don't just cut into a healthy tree, look for a fallen tree or blown-off branch. The Gomboy can easily handle wood that got wet or was buried under a thick layer of snow for a long time.
The Gomboy's rubber handle ensures a secure and comfortable grip. The recess in the handle offers the possibility of attaching a carabiner or lanyard to the saw.
The blade is easily and securely locked in two sawing positions. When the Gomboy is folded in, the razor-sharp teeth are completely covered by the handle. You can therefore feel free to store the saw loose in your backpack.
The Gomboy comes in a transparent hard case with belt holder. The bottom has a cut-out and two openings to drain moisture and sawdust.

How to use
Silky saws are designed to cut with the pulling motion. When first starting, position the pull saw so that the teeth closest to the handle engage the wood first. After the pulling motion, guide the saw back to the starting position by a pushing motion (without force). During the pulling movement, the thin blade cannot bend because there is no lateral force on it. The blade only follows the saw cut. Should the saw still clamp, never push or force hard, this may cause lateral forces and damage or break the saw blade. Always remove the clamping weight to free the saw.
The Silky saw guarantees a fine cut and requires little cutting force. Do not stress the saw. As your grandfather used to say: let the saw do the work. You are less likely to get tired and it benefits the life of the saw.
When you find the induction symbol on a Silky saw, the saw has been inductively hardened and cannot be re-filed with the Silky file. You can see it on the saw itself. Inductively hardened tooth tips are black.
You can slightly control the saw's wood removal by where you hold the handle:
- Close to the blade: there is relatively little pressure on the blade. The saw will take the least amount of wood, allowing you to cut very controlled and with precision.
- Further away from the blade: more pressure comes to bear on the blade. The cutting action is maximum, but less precise.
We are not responsible for any damage caused by improper use.
Maintenance
- Treat your saw with love. The Silky saw blade must be kept clean or the cutting action will be lost. Resin dissolves in olive oil, so this is an effective, eco-friendly way to clean the blade. Be aware, however, that if you use more aggressive agents, these can affect the rubber of the handles.
- When not in use, dry the saw thoroughly, put it in its holster and store in a dry place.
- Keep out of reach of children.
