Silky Gomboy Curve 210-8
Silky's saws are becoming increasingly well-known in the bushcraft and outdoor world. Not for nothing: because the unique very smooth-sawing Pocket and Gomboy models are a perfect tool for this application.
Silky Gomboy Curve 210-8
Equipped with a Mirai-Me toothing, this model cuts smoothly and effortlessly through most types of wood. The result is a nice smooth finish to the cut. The hard chrome blade is rust-resistant and has a wear-resistant surface. Thanks to the special hardened teeth, the saw remains sharp for a very long time. Complete with a secure blade lock and a comfortable rubber handle.
The curved blade makes sawing even more pleasant and ergonomic. The orange-coloured handle prevents you from losing the saw easily.
RENEWED MODEL!
- The profile of the rubber grip has been improved and provides more grip
- The handle has been modified to fit the hand better.
- A recess has been made in the handle for attaching a carabiner or paracord
- Improved locking button, making the case easier to open and close and set in 2 positions.
- New plastic cover for safer and easier attachment to a belt. The cover is now also removable.
How to use
Silky saws are designed to cut with the pulling motion. When first starting, position the pull saw so that the teeth closest to the handle engage the wood first. After the pulling motion, guide the saw back to the starting position by a pushing motion (without force). During the pulling movement, the thin blade cannot bend because there is no lateral force on it. The blade only follows the saw cut. Should the saw still clamp, never push or force hard, this may cause lateral forces and damage or break the saw blade. Always remove the clamping weight to free the saw.
The Silky saw guarantees a fine cut and requires little cutting force. Do not stress the saw. As your grandfather used to say: let the saw do the work. You are less likely to get tired and it benefits the life of the saw.
When you find the induction symbol on a Silky saw, the saw has been inductively hardened and cannot be re-filed with the Silky file. You can see it on the saw itself. Inductively hardened tooth tips are black.
You can slightly control the saw's wood removal by where you hold the handle:
- Close to the blade: there is relatively little pressure on the blade. The saw will take the least amount of wood, allowing you to cut very controlled and with precision.
- Further away from the blade: more pressure comes to bear on the blade. The cutting action is maximum, but less precise.
We are not responsible for any damage caused by improper use.
Maintenance
- Treat your saw with love. The Silky saw blade must be kept clean or the cutting action will be lost. Resin dissolves in olive oil, so this is an effective, eco-friendly way to clean the blade. Be aware, however, that if you use more aggressive agents, these can affect the rubber of the handles.
- When not in use, dry the saw thoroughly, put it in its holster and store in a dry place.
- Keep out of reach of children.
