MK II TBS Timberwolf Bushcraft Knife - Multi Carry - Curly Birch
The TBS Timberwolf is the latest knife from TBS where all the knowledge gained from past years has come together to create what we think is a great knife.
The knife comes with standard leather sheath. This sheath carries only the knife. The sheath can be attached to the belt.
The Bushcraft edition is distinguished from the Camp edition by its carbon steel and scandi gravel. The bushcraft edition chose carbon steel, which is easier to sharpen and less likely to break. The scandi-gravel blade is ideal for handling wood, slightly less so for handling food products.
Thanks to its sturdy full-tang construction, where the blade extends fully into the handle, this knife is hugely suitable for all heavy duty bushcraft tasks. Finer work is also made easier thanks to the generous notch at the bottom of the blade. This notch allows you to hold the knife very close to the blade, giving you more control during woodworking.
The knife features a high-quality, scandi-grain ground, carbon steel, droppoint blade that is razor-sharp right out of the box and makes camping tasks and general cutting effortless. The 115 mm length has a more pronounced finger guard, a short Ricasso (non-cutting part) and a Choil (finger notch) that ensures perfect indexing in almost any grip and improves your ability to make powerful and controlled cuts. It is the modern fad that bushcraft knives have no notch or ricasso, this knife breaks that fad. Knives with a choil offer the possibility of gripping closer to the blade, this gives you more control while cutting, hence a lot safer.
It has a natural swing to the back and a good swell, this ensures a perfect fit around your hand and allows your wrist and shoulder to be in a more natural position. Knives with a straight back cause you to stretch your wrist unnaturally and lift your shoulder when cutting vertically, making you fatigued faster and not as comfortable to use.
The Timberwolf has 3 different material options for the handle: Curly Birch, Turkish Walnut and Black Micarta. All of TBS Outdoor's wood is sustainably sourced, harvested from trees planted by the current owners, or their grandfathers. TBS values the economic and environmental well-being of their supply chain, from working conditions to the environment.
If you choose a wooden handle, you should naturally maintain, clean and oil it so you can enjoy a genuine, authentic-feeling, bushcraft knife that will last for generations. We recommend oiling with boiled linseed oil, but there are many other oils and waxes that nourish the wood throughout its life and keep it as water-resistant as possible.
The black micarta handle is made of synthetic material combined with resin. This type of handle is very low-maintenance, durable and, above all, hygienic. The latter is particularly interesting if you want to be able to use it for processing food products or desecrating animals.
The Timberwolf naturally features the latest improved leatherwork from TBS Outdoor, the scabbards are made of full-grain leather. There are several models of scabbards available, many offering innovative designs and unique accessories.
