Anjan 2 - Sand
This two-person tent from Hilleberg is mainly known for its very light weight and space setup, especially the upright wall. Weighing 1.7kg for 2 people, this is a very lightweight travel option, especially as the weight of the tent can easily be divided between two backpacks. You do this by carrying the tent poles and pegs separately, the stuffsack with the tent canvas is then very easy to shape to the space in your bag. Despite these features, you lose almost nothing in strength and durability! This makes this tent great for travelling on warmer days where low weight is a priority, despite the weight it is still very spacious! Especially as a single tent, this is a very comfortable and still lightweight option.
The awning is large enough to accommodate your rucksack and hiking boots, so you have plenty of room inside for your sleeping equipment! Thanks to the upright head end, it offers relatively much usable living/sleeping space.
The tent is suitable for 3-season use, this is because the outer tent does not fully connect to the ground. This keeps the tent well ventilated, preventing condensation! In addition, this tent offers many other ventilation options, such as rolling up the footprint further so that the mesh inner tent can blow through. This largely prevents the tent from getting too hot on sunny mornings.
The packed up tent is very easy to store in your rucksack! In many cases, this is done by removing the stuffsack with the tent poles from the stuffsack of the entire tent and putting it upright in your bag, this can be done on the inside or the outside. The stuffsack with the tent canvas can then be processed horizontally in your bag. As the poles are no longer in it in this stuffsack can be perfectly shaped to the contours of your bag. This is the most "low profile" way to incorporate a tent into your backpack.
Erik's choice
On treks, your tent is your home. Your safe place in all weathers, where you can shelter from the elements. So... I must be able to rely on it 100%, it must be lightweight, strong, easy to set up, waterproof, intuitive to use and have a comfortable cosy interior. This tent is not the cheapest, but it is the one that guarantees you all this, for a lifetime!
