Heritage clothing line

Keela has been developing a traditional clothing line, made from natural fabrics and materials, with a true country life look, for several years. One requirement was that the entire clothing line had to be especially suitable for Bushcraft. This has very much succeeded!

Ventile

This lovely jacket is made of Ventile cotton. Ventile is developed for very extreme conditions. This fabric has some great advantages, especially for Bushcraft:

100% Waterproof
The waterproof properties are controlled by the fabric itself. Ventile cotton is a very tightly woven fabric. It does not need to be impregnated to be waterproof. The fibres swell when they get wet, thus sealing the fabric. A natural property that no technical fabric can match. The jacket is impregnated at the factory to make most of the water run off. If this coating wears off in one spot, or does not cover it properly, the Ventile cotton ensures that the jacket still remains sealed.

100% Windproof
Because Ventile cotton is tightly woven, it is also wonderfully windproof. Ideal for any season!

Quiet: zipper-free
Ventile cotton is a silent fabric with virtually no rustling when you wear it. Ideal if you want to spot wildlife or photograph birds!

Spark-resistant
The strong cotton is resistant to sparks. So sitting around the campfire safely is no problem at all

Tear-resistant
Even thorns, sharp branches, rocks are no challenge for this very strong fabric.

Breathable
Because cotton is a natural fabric, it has great breathability.

Cool in summer, warm in winter
A nice feature of cotton is that it keeps heat out in summer, but also insulates well in winter. So it is an all-season jacket, if you combine it with a woollen jumper on really cold days, for example.

ADS Liner - System Dual Protection
This Keela Ventile Jacket features a laminated ADS liner. A technical name for a fantastic piece of fabric developed by Keela. This layer on the inside of the jacket is extremely good at wicking moisture away from the jacket (for example, if you sweat a lot) and perfectly stops any penetrating moisture from the outside. An extra layer that gives extra guarantee that you stay dry and warm! We like to sell jackets with this liner to people who sweat a lot inside their jacket during activities or have a lot of condensation inside the jacket. The ADS liner has already generated many positive reactions.

Angelo's choice

There is no such thing as bad weather if you use the right gear. I think this is a top jacket, especially because it is so efficient and durable. The jacket is made of strong fabric, so you don't have to worry about burrs or other sharp branches.

Also, the jacket is very quiet, you sneak through the forest in no time. I use it over my sleeping bag during overnights to retain that extra bit of warmth. The pockets are huge so you can collect tinder as you go and make sure it stays dry.

Maintenance

A Ventile jacket should preferably not be washed. Brushing with a soft brush or rinsing with cold water without detergent is best.
If the jacket is very dirty, you can hand wash it with, for example, Nikwax Techwash. NEVER use standard detergents and certainly not fabric softener.
Re-impregnate with a cotton impregnator, such as Nikwax Cotton Proof.
Do not tumble dry, hang the jacket outside to dry out of the sun.
