Making fire like the old Vikings
Making a fire with a traditional Elddon is a fantastic and easy way to make a campfire in a historic way.
When struck against a sharp piece of flint, the steel gives off a burst of sparks that then ignite twigs or carbon cloth that then start to glow.
Then place the embers in a bunch of dry grass, twigs or fluffy burlap rope and blow until it flares up.
This way of making fire is an excellent skill to learn as an alternative to modern methods. It is very satisfying to make a fire as before and once you start it, it soon feels like the best way to make a fire in nature. Simple, historical and sincere ...
From spark to blazing fire ...!
