With a can of Char Cloth, the storage container of the Fire-piston can be refilled about 30 times and is thus sufficient for about 450 ignitions. The tinder is a natural material and consists of pure pyrolysed cotton rope. This has the advantage that it glows particularly hot and long-lasting. This way, the glow can be easily transferred to ignite tinder.
Petromax Char-Cloth can also be carried in the compact, weatherproof tin and can also be used to generate glow through a flint.
The empty tin can be reused to produce new Char-Cloth.
